Key Facts
Unlike its larger neighbour, Davos, the resort of Klosters is essentially a farming village, despite its royal connections and reputation.
The first winter sports enthusiasts appeared here in the beautiful Prattigau valley in 1904, and Klosters still charms its visitors with its ancient buildings, village atmosphere and the friendliness of the local inhabitants.
Although Klosters has, for a long time been associated with the jet set, film stars and even royalty, it still remains a typical, friendly, Swiss village, with picturesque chalets and horse-drawn sleighs.
Apart from fantastic skiing, the village offers plenty in the way of entertainment. There are skating, curling, ice hockey, swimming pools, tennis and squash courts and nearly 32 km of prepared walking paths.
Klosters is a very civilised resort with great restaurants and many traditional chalets, offering the kind of privacy and service best suited for executive ski weekends or management offsites.
