Key Facts
Ski Weekends in Kitzbühel, Austria
This is one of the most famous resorts in Austria and deservedly so. It is a popular destination for corporate ski weekends and short breaks, since it has
skiing and snowboarding for all skill levels, plenty of quality hotels and all the charm of an attractive walled medieval town set amongst spectacular
mountains.
The village is free from cars and there is plenty for the non skier during the day in the way of shopping, bars and sport facilities.
Excursions to Salzburg and Innsbruck are also easily arranged also.
The nightlife is vibrant, with a wide selection of Tyrolean bars eg. Goldeners Gams or English style pubs and there are many smart or modest restaurants.
The Kitzbühel skiing area is approximately 165km (including the groomed unpatrolled areas) and is centred around two main areas, the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn. The former is the larger area and is ideal for intermediates. The Kitzbühel skiing area around Ehrenbachgraben is the scene for the annual downhill course (since 19331!) and is ideal for advanced skiers.
Provision for beginners is good with plenty of long gentle slopes both on the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn. Skiers will feel a sense of moving around the mountains rather than just up and down.
